Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Hyres

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person” - defines Elaine and Andy because I see it every time I'm with them  (quote I included in my Maid of Honor speech)

Song: "Marry Me"- Train

Busy, busy busy! I've been slacking on my posts because my cousin Elaine flew in from Hawaii for her wedding and I'm her maid of honor so I've been preparing for her arrival and big day!  She flew in on Saturday the 11th and that night we had her bachelorette party!  The following Saturday, the 18th,  was the wedding at the North Fort Lewis Chapel on Joint Base Lewis-McChord followed by the reception at the Temple Theater in downtown Tacoma!  It was a beautiful day even if it rained!  Beautiful couple, beautiful ceremony, beautiful people, beautiful reception and everything just fell into place- beautifully!  It was such a blessing and more than an honor to be a part of their wedding and it will always be a very special memory of mine because it was the first wedding that I was a part of!  So many precious moments to capture!  I started crying when Elaine walked down the aisle with her dad.  She looked perfect, indescribably gorgeous and happy!  She glowed and everyone in the room could feel the love Andy and Elaine have for each other!  It was beyond amazing!

Three and a half weeks later Corliss Photography posted a slide show and the proofs from the wedding ceremony and reception on their site!  They did an extraordinary job! The pictures are absolutely incredible!  I would highly recommend hiring this couple for your special event!  The slide show definitely brought a tear to my eye and I wanted to share it with you so I hope you clicked the link above this post! :)

Wishing all the best to all the newly weds out there! Who's next?!

My First Office Holiday Party...

The Best Night You'll Sorta Remember
With an invitation like that, how can you resist?  My fellow interns and I were constantly debating about whether or not we wanted to go to our office party.  We didn't know what to expect!  I even googled about what to expect at an office holiday party.  Nerdy I know but it doesn't hurt to read about what some of the pro's have to say about office party etiquette about what to wear, what to bring, etc.  Our party attire was lodge-cocktail.  That's a pretty big range.  I talked to a lady during lunch and she said she was wearing her retro ski suit and another lady said she was wearing a cocktail dress.  Hm, I decided to go to cocktail!

The holiday party was a good time!  Played some games, chopped it up, and had some drinks while a live band jammed out.  It was nice to see people out of the office and it was nice to see the 60+ other people who worked in our building that I've never seen before.  There was a good mix of lodge-wear and cocktail attire, there was one woman I recognized from the advertising floor who wore a cocktail dress, a fur hat with ear flaps and UGGs.  That was cute, why didn't I think of that?!  We also had a cool moose ice sculpture that poured shots of jager!

In the end, I'm glad that I decided to go because it was funny hearing stories about it at the office the next day without feeling left out for not going. Yay for going!

24 hours laters...

It's been discussed, decided, and confirmed that three ladies who I like to call my "buried life girls" are taking a road trip to sunny San Diego to support our Dawgs at the Holiday Bowl!  We also plan to spend New Year's Eve in LA! I am so freakin' stoked!  2010 is awesome, definitely have to end the year with a bang!

[1.5 weeks later]
It's so official!

11 months and 4 days later...

I always get excited about blogging and keep it up for a short time then totally slack on keeping up with it (I'm sure a lot of people can relate). Then I read my old blog posts and crack up because I think I'm so funny. Haha, but I really do enjoy reading past posts and finding my old self and reflecting on what's changed and stayed the same about me.

So it's been 11 months and 4 days since my last post. LOL, almost a freakin' year! I was thinking about restarting it on the date of my last post (Jan. 2) which is in a couple of weeks but why wait? But more importantly, why am I starting this again now? Mostly because I'm taking advantage of this motivation and inspiration that's bottled up waiting to explode like a shaken can of soda NOW (Yes I say "soda" and not "pop")! I don't want to risk the chance of it becoming flat and wasted until I'm shaken again (i.e. until I feel this overflow of motivation and inspiration again). Wow, "A" for effort for my attempt on metaphors! ;) Basically, I have Miss Jess Estrada to thank for helping me to push myself to get back on this thing. Reading back, I'm bummed that I didn't keep up with it throughout 2010 because this year by far rocks overall compared to 2009. I love 2010 (I almost don't want it to end) and it definitely flew and I hope 2011 is even better because I feel like that's the only way it can go! "Up, up, here we go!"

Why you wonder? Plenty of reasons including graduating from UW, traveling to 4 places I've never been to (Cancun, Hawaii, Florida, and LA), concerts galore, and exploring and trying new things (many activities courtesy of the sweet deals on Living Social).

Ok enough of the sap, today's Monday but not just any Monday, it's Purple & Gold Monday! Say what?! Because the UW Husky football team is going to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego after winning Apple Cup on Saturday against WSU! Sorry Cougs but BOW DOWN TO WASHINGTON! Always proud to be a Dawg and this weekend was just too awesome that we had to show off our purple and gold today too.

We're going bowlin'!
Another reason this weekend was super awesome was because Haizel and I went to our first Seahawks game and we won! It was against the South Carolina Panthers and the second half was definitely exciting because we came up to from 3-14 the first half to 31-14 the second. WOOTWOOT!

Haizel & I at our 1st Seahawks game!

Ok this is long enough. There's so much I want to share and post but we'll see how I can manage some 2010 highlights before the year ends along with some current goodies.

@FerrerMelissa

WAIT! I just wanted to share an epic moment that every 2010 graduate should be proud of. Here's a pic Haizel caught on the Huskytron of me!
Shaking President Emmert's hand. Momentous.

And also, in case you were wondering about what I'm doing now since I finished college (I know a lot of my past posts included daily rants about lack of sleep, procrastinating, and class boredom). Well, I have a PR internship at a great agency here in Seattle. Looking back at autumn quarter of my senior year I told myself I wanted to intern there after a class visit and with that in mind, I accomplished it! :)

Ok ok, now I'm done!
